OTS Fitness

TEST INCLUDES:

Cortisol, DHEA, Testosterone

For Over training syndrome which may leads to adverse effect on health and weight

DESCRIPTION:

Intensity of exercise increases the concentrations of specific biological stress markers such as DHEA, Cortisol, and Testosterone. Excessive exercising may result in “overtraining syndrome,” potentially leading to adverse physiological and psychological symptoms. These symptoms have detrimental effects on an individual’s athletic performance and ability to recover.
Monitoring hormone levels during fitness sessions is found to be a useful tool for optimizing athletes’ training status and identifying any excessive exercise resulting in overtraining syndrome.

Depression

TEST INCLUDES:

Cortisol x4 AM, Noon, Evening, Night

DESCRIPTION:

New studies have shown that Salivary Cortisol testing may be crucial in predicting the development of mental illness in the later stages of adolescent boys. This study, done by Cambridge University U.K researchers, showed that boys with elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol and depressive symptoms were 14 times more likely to develop clinical depression later in life. These findings suggest that hormone levels of cortisol may in fact be a significant biological marker to predict major clinical depression. This will help strategically target preventions and interventions of individuals to help reduce their risk of serious episodes of depression and their consequences in adult life. Men Vitality Profile

TEST INCLUDES:

Testosterone, Cortisol AM

DESCRIPTION:

The male organ testes produce nearly 95% of all male testosterone. The balance of hormone is supplied by the ad-renal glands, which also produce small amounts of estrogen. In men, the symptoms of aging are often the result of a loss of growth hormone and the decline of testosterone. At the age of puberty, growth hormone and testosterone levels peak and remain relatively high till men reach their early to mid-20. Testosterone levels begin to decline afterwards (on average about 14% for every 10 years) because of the breakdown of hormone-producing cells. By the time men reach the ages of 40-60, growth hormone and testosterone levels are reduced to approximately 50-60%.

The Post menopause Panel requires a single saliva collection and is ideal for women who have already transitioned into menopause. The Per menopause Panel involves two saliva samples collected approximately two weeks apart and is the preferred test for women experiencing early signs of menopause such as infrequent or unpredictable menses.

Cortisol AM, Noon, Evening, Night DHEA, Estriol, Estradiol, Progesterone, Testosterone

DESCRIPTION:

Skin Vitality Profile can help the physician to diagnose whether patient has hormones imbalance. Too high and too little hormone levels can lead to skin problem and the treatment choice becomes available in a most effective manner. Determining optimal hormone levels for each individual patient may lead to an indication of hormone replacement therapy. Most often estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are involved in such treatments, in which a set of drugs is administered to artificially boost hormone levels.
